The presentation will provide an overview of how spring depletion of polar stratospheric ozone is observed in UV time series data collected by the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI). Measurements from Sodankylä (Arctic) and Marambio (Antarctic) will be discussed as examples, highlighting the importance of systematically ensuring the quality of measurements. Additionally, FMI's remote sensing activities related to the development of global and European satellite-based UV products will be presented. An overview of a new UV project funded by the Research Council of Finland, which investigates the global UV radiation variability and its impact on the seasonality of viral infections, will also be provided.
