Open Shell Intermediates - Structure, Reactivity and Application in Modern Chemistry
-
15 – 25 April 2025
4:00 PM – 12:00 PM -
The lectures will take place on the following days:
Tuesday 15 April 16:00 (room A8-309)
Wednesday 16 April 15:00 (room B11-132)
Thursday 24 April 16:00 (room B11-306)
Friday 15 April 12:00 (room A8-309)
Ullrich Jahn
The course aims to provide the audience (PhD and master students) an advanced understanding of open shell intermediates (radicals, triplet carbenes or nitrenes). Their physical organic chemistry provides the basics for applying them in organic and technical chemistry. The general reactivity patterns of radicals, carbenes and nitrenes will be outlined and illustrated by selected modern lines of research and applications. As a result, the audience will be able to predictively apply the principles to their own research problems.
