New insights into the origins of the Hyksos, the foreign rulers of Egypt during the Second Intermediate Period, will be explored. Drawing on interdisciplinary evidence, including material culture, burial customs, DNA, and isotope data, traditional views are challenged, revealing that the Hyksos were a diverse group with strong Levantine connections, reshaping our understanding of Egypt’s interactions with the ancient Near East.
