Explorations of a new chimpanzee behavioral realm in Chinko, Central African Republic

I will present the results of a 2-year survey of material culture in the Chinko Reserve of Central African Republic. We surveyed four major regions of the reserve, collecting data on tool use, nesting habits and reactions to humans. Our preliminary results indicate a novel behavioral complex which differs significantly from the Bili-Uere Chimpanzee Behavioral Realm directly adjacent to the reserve in the DR Congo.
